Quitting tobacco is tough, but worth it.

Tobacco use is the #1 preventable cause of disease, disability, and death.  Whether you are a tobacco user or want to help someone quit, Well-NS can help. Resources available to employees and spouses include:

Agreement Employees. Receive free over-the-counter tobacco cessation medications by registering for your medical plan provider's tobacco cessation program.

Nonagreement Employees - tobacco cessation medications obtained with a prescription are covered by CVS/Caremark with no copayment. Many of these products are available over-the-counter; however, you will need a prescription from your doctor in order to get them free of charge.

All Employees

  • Coaches To be successful, you need a plan beyond setting a quit date. Request a professional health coach by calling 904-285-2014.

  • Well-NS member website. Find articles and information about tobacco use, related diseases and how to quit.

  • Online tobacco cessation program. Sign up for Breathe on the Member website. After completing a confidential survey, you receive a custom plan for quitting. You can use this alone or with a coach.

  • Free or low cost annual physicals. For no more than a co-pay, use this opportunity to work with your doctor and create a tobacco cessation strategy that works for you.

Smokeless tobacco has many of the same risks as smoking plus a few more. It is not a safe alternative to smoking. If you are a smokeless tobacco user, use this opportunity to join co-workers and quit tobacco once and for all.
