April 24, 2009 Norfolk Southern Awards 10 College ScholarshipsNORFOLK, VA. – Norfolk Southern Corporation has awarded college scholarships to ten sons and daughters of its employees as part of the company’s annual scholarship program. This year, there are three recipients of the National Merit Scholarship: Matthew Ambler, son of General Attorney Thomas Ambler and Martha Ambler, and a graduate of Maury High School, Norfolk, Va., who plans to attend Yale University; Adam Bowling, son of Director Industrial Development Robert Bowling and Julia Bowling, and a graduate of Harrison High School, Kennesaw, Ga., who plans to attend the University of Georgia; and Mark Gurevich, son of Manager Performance Measurements Anatoly Gurevich and Irina Gurevich, and a graduate of Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga., who plans to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology.
