What We Look For in a Candidate
Norfolk Southern is looking for self-motivated and customer service-oriented individuals to work in Customer Service and Network Management. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required. While we will consider other undergraduate degrees, candidates with degrees in business, information technology, marketing, finance, logistics and supply chain management are well-suited to the customer service environment. Candidates should have strong communication, interpersonal, qualitative analysis and customer service skills. They should also be willing to work non-traditional work schedules including nights and weekends.
After Training
Customer Service and Network Planning is organized into two main functional areas called Customer Service and Network Management. Following the completion of the Management Trainee program, employees will be placed in a management position within one of these two functional areas.
The open-ended nature of the management trainee program will prove to be an asset, especially for those that are entirely new to the rail industry and thereby wish to explore a variety of options before specializing in a given area of Customer Service and Network Management.
