Norfolk Southern Mexicana is a marketing subsidiary that has offices in Mexico City and Monterrey. Ana Patricia (Patty) Martin del Campo is the National Account Manager for NS Mexicana in Mexico City conducting marketing and sales in Mexico’s Southern Region, and Jorge Alberto Morton Tafich is the National Account Manager for NS Mexicana in Monterrey conducting marketing and sales in Mexico’s Northern Region. NORFOLK, VA., Estados Unidos (ERF) — La Norfolk Southern Corporation anunció la creación de su subsidiaria al sur de la frontera, Norfolk Southern Mexicana SRLdeCV (NSM), para comercializar el transporte ferroviario y los servicios de logística en territorio azteca. "Consideramos que ahora es el momento de incrementar nuestra presencia en el mercado mexicano", dijo Ike Prillaman, vicepresidente y principal ejecutivo de marketing de la empresa ferroviaria estadounidense. "Con el continuo fortalecimiento del NAFTA y dado el amplio servicio que prestamos en el este, hemos tenido seis años consecutivos de crecimiento en el tráfico mexicano, tanto en volumen como en facturación". El experto de NS en el mercado mexicano, Tony LaRosa, director para México, continuará en sus funciones, desarrollando directivas a la nueva empresa y trabajando en forma mancomunada con los ejecutivos de cuenta Patty Martin en Ciudad de México, y Jorge Morton en Monterrey. Karsten Jespersen is Norfolk Southern’s marketing representative in Europe and works out of Barcelona, Spain. Karsten is responsible for marketing and sales for product groups such as intermodal, merchandise, and industrial development throughout Europe. Karsten works closely with Spanish companies that export to the U.S. in an effort to earn their business transporting their goods by rail to optimize their logistics within the U.S. Although many Spanish companies seek to invest in Spanish speaking Latin American countries when setting up new plants, terminals, etc. exports from Spain to the U.S. have been on the rise recently. The products exported from Spain to the U.S. vary, and include, among others, agricultural products, paper, metals, furniture, foodstuffs and textiles.
