Mark your calendars for the special 35th annual DARS Family Jubilee to be held June 15-17, 2012, in Roanoke Va. Roanoke was the site of the first Jubilee 35 years ago, and 2012 will be a special reunion as the event will be at the historic Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. This marks the first time in 25 years that the Jubilee will be held at this storied grand hotel. The Hotel Roanoke was carefully renovated in 1995 and has a distinct railroad heritage. The nearby O. Winston Link Museum and Roanoke Transportation Museum are two additional landmarks that will make this Jubilee an abounding railroad experience.
The Jubilee is an event that promotes and supports the commitments of Norfolk Southern and Conrail to provide a drug- and alcohol-free workplace and promotes a healthy lifestyle for employees and family members. Attendees will learn more about these important health and safety issues as well as learn ways employees and families can help make our workplace and homes entirely drug free. Recovering employees and family members will expand their support group by attending.
Invitations, registration material and greater details about activities will be mailed in early April 2012. If you are not already on the mailing list or would like more information, you can contact the DARS manager at 1-800-552-2306, ext. 629-2447, or see more about DARS at www.nscorp.com/dars.
Meanwhile, Norfolk Southern DARS program remains ready to provide employees and family members with personal support at anytime you find necessary and also desires to work with you as we constantly seek to reach out to any railroader or family member experiencing the negative effects of substance dependence.
