Welcome to Norfolk Southern Corporation's Industrial Development Department. We have three driving goals in our Industrial Development efforts:

• Locate rail-served industries along our lines by providing plant location services tailored to our customer's needs.
• Aid our existing industries in their expansion efforts.
• Work with our allies to promote economic growth in the communities we serve.

Industrial Development Services  

Norfolk Southern has thirteen Industrial Development Field Offices throughout the eastern U.S. and Ontario, so your site questions will always be answered quickly, and by someone familiar with your area of interest.

Project Management - Our Industrial Development Managers are located at key locations across our system and provide an intimate knowledge of their respective territories, available rail-served sites in their areas and extensive contacts with the economic development allies in their areas.

Engineering Services - Our engineers are located with our Managers to offer a quick response to questions relating to any issue of railroad engineering and site planning.

Site Assistance Services - We maintain an inventory of over 2,000 available industrial sites throughout our system and have detailed site brochures on each site that can be provided to prospective rail customers in short order.
