Welcome to the Government Relations Web site. The Government Relations Department is the voice of the Norfolk Southern Corporation on Capitol Hill and state capitols across our territory. We work closely with federal and state legislators and their staffs, the Executive Branch and independent agencies to ensure that our voice is heard.

Our site is designed to give visitors the information and tools needed to become politically involved. On our site you will be able to obtain information on how to effectively communicate your concerns with a legislator. There are also links to hot topics and several websites that you will find to be useful in acquiring knowledge of how the legislative system works.

Political Activities and Political Contributions Report

Norfolk Southern publishes a semi-annual report that details:

• A summary of our policies and procedures regarding political activities and lobbying;
• The process we use to approve political contributions by Norfolk Southern or by the Norfolk Southern Corporation Good Government Fund (GGF);
• A list of contributions made by Norfolk Southern or the GGF during the semi-annual reporting period; and
• Norfolk Southern payments to trade associations and other organizations that were non-deductible lobbying expenditures and more than $10,000.
