When it comes to moving cargo efficiently and safely, no transloading facility is finer than Lambert's Point Docks (LPD). Located in Hampton Roads, Virginia, LPD is situated within a day's travel of nearly half the nation's industrial business centers. For more than 50 years, LPD has served shippers, manufacturers and cargo brokers by handling their import and export needs from one of the East Coast's finest natural, deep-water harbors. The contiguous natural harbor offers protection against severe weather; and vessels do not encounter bridges between Lambert's Point Docks and the open sea.
As a Norfolk Southern Corporation subsidiary, LPD offers easy connections to NS' rail network presently operating in 22 states and Canada. LPD covers 125 acres and offers more than 1.5 million square feet of covered warehouse storage space and outdoor acreage.
Lambert's Point Docks is Virginia's largest break-bulk marine terminal. LPD has the capacity to move more than a half-million tons of general cargo annually, including plywood and other forest products, natural crude rubber, and heavy equipment. LPD's two modern articulated gantry cranes (50 tons) featuring automatic spreader bars coupled with container toploaders accelerate LPD's container handling capability. Lambert's Point Docks, Inc. has the highest breakbulk productivity of any mid-Atlantic marine terminal.
A specialized fleet of modern material equipment is readily available to handle virtually any commodity. Special features include heavy loading/unloading equipment, berths to accommodate as many as four panamax vessels simultaneously, rail ramps, vacuum fumigation and twenty-four hour security. Our dedicated, safe, professional and efficient labor force further enhances LPD's capabilities.
Lambert's Point Docks is ready to serve customer needs and expectations.
