Prefer: Students seeking degrees in engineering, sciences, computing or business disciplines with at least a 2.7 GPA overall and a 3.0 GPA in major. No travel, relocation, or living allowance is provided. Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment. Students must commit to at least two alternating semesters to be considered for the co-op position.
All co-ops who are active employees on or after January 1, 2005, will be paid according to the following:

Duties: Student will work with the Piedmont Division Superintendent's office to improve railroad operations by conducting research and reviews of vital operations areas that include: daily train performance, customer service failure, train delays and train run times. Additionally, the student will assist with information gathering and the monitoring of expenses and employees. As co-op student progresses, the co-op will be required to handle projects from start to finish.
Skills: Student must be highly PC-literate and have experience in MS Excel, MS Access. Knowledge of MS Visual Basic, SQL, MS FrontPage, statistical analysis and design of experiments is desirable.
