Prefer:   Freshman or Sophomore Civil Engineering (Design & Construction emphasis) candidates with at least a 2.7/4.0 GPA overall; 2.7/4.0 in major. No relocation, travel or living expenses are provided. Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment.

All co-ops who are active employees on or after January 1, 2005, will be paid according to the following:

Class Standing Monthly Salary
Freshman $1920
Sophomore $2125
Junior $2335
Senior $2545
Graduate $2835

Location: Norfolk Southern - Atlanta, GA
Work Period: Spring, Summer, Fall
Hours: Monday through Friday; generally 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but may vary
May through August (semesters) or June through September (quarters)
Reports To: Utility/Contracts & Administration Engineer

Description:   Co-op will gain knowledge of the design and construction operations of a Fortune 100 railroad by working in a multifaceted support role under the guidance of an Engineer. Responsibilities include 70-75% outside work surveying and in office doing plans.

Skills:   Student must be flexible to assist engineers in surveying, drafting, and performing office duties, as well as have an interest in design and construction.
