Prefer: Students seeking degrees in Engineering or Computer disciplines with at least a 2.7 GPA overall and a 3.0 GPA in major. No travel, relocation, or living allowance is provided. Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment. Students must commit to at least two alternating semesters to be considered for the co-op position.
All co-ops who are active employees on or after January 1, 2005, will be paid according to the following:

Description: Student will work with the personnel of Insourcing on a variety of projects. Primary duties include assisting in:
Position will also assist in documenting, forwarding to the shop for implementation, and filing of Engineering Change Requests. Will work with General Motors Diesel Division Liaison Engineers regarding the design and fabrication of various material required to keep new locomotive assembly line on schedule. Will assist in keeping drawing database and file current, drawing schematics and prints for locomotive modifications, creating a Photobook of Norfolk Southern components being offered for sale, assist in ensuring locomotive work packs are current and in monitoring overhaul procedures and documentation.
Skills: Student must be highly PC-literate and have extensive experience in MS Excel. Knowledge of MS Access, SQL, graphical interface programming, statistical analysis and design of experiments is desirable.
