Location: 1200 W. Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia
Work Period: Spring, Summer or Fall (May work for two consecutive semesters)
Hours: Monday through Friday; generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Reports To: Senior Manager - Operations Research

Education: Enrolled in Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Master or Ph.D. students in the related areas are preferred. The candidate must be enrolled during the semester in which he/she is employed. Undergraduates must have attained Junior or Senior status to be considered for position.

Experience: Prefer candidates with practical software development experience. Knowledge of SQL, Windows, UNIX, Java, C/C++, Perl, Korn Shell, Visual Basic (VB) and relational database would be helpful.

Requirements: Strong analytical skills. High degree of computer literacy. Aptitude for problem solving. Background in statistics and mathematical programming.

Responsibilities: Intern will assist Operations Research group to achieve its mission to support key internal customers, such as Transportation, Marketing, Strategic Planning, and Financial Planning. Intern will assist the OR group with developing new decision support systems and enhancing the existing systems. The systems currently being development or to be developed are Operating Plan Developer (OPD), Strategic Fleet Planning Model (SFPM), Car Distribution Model (CDM), Crew Balancing Model, T&E Claim Cube, Delphi Corporate Forecasting, and eCommerce Single Sign-on.
