Prefer: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems candidates with at least a 2.8/4.0 GPA overall; 3.0/4.0 in major. No relocation, travel or living expenses are provided. Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment. Six-month rotations are preferred.

All co-ops who are active employees on or after January 1, 2005, will be paid according to the following:

Sophomore $2125
Junior $2335
Senior $2545
Graduate $2835

Location: 110 Franklin Rd., SE, Roanoke, VA 24042
Work Period: Spring and Summer OR Summer and Fall
Hours: Monday through Friday; generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Description: Student will work in a programming staff support role. This position assists teams with programming and support of our technical system software associated with an imaging system. Experience with C or C++ is required. This co-op may also assist the staff with PC hardware, GUI (graphical user interface) design, and network communications.

Skills: Must be experienced in the use of PC's and programming disciplines. Knowledge of C++ is necessary; similar disciplines are helpful. Experience or significant coursework in data structures (e.g. pointers & dynamic memory allocation). Prefer experience in an office or business environment. Should be willing to study reference material to resolve problems, make suggestions for improvements, and design projects.
