Prefer: Civil Engineering candidates with at least a 2.8/4.0 GPA overall; 3.0/4.0 in major. No relocation, travel or living expenses are provided. Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment.

All co-ops who are active employees on or after January 1, 2005, will be paid according to the following:

Freshman $1920
Sophomore $2125
Junior $2335
Senior $2545
Graduate $2835

Hours:

Monday through Friday; generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM , but may vary

Reports To:

Manager Engineering Services

Description:  Co-op will gain knowledge of Norfolk Southern’s Industrial Development process. Co-op will help in the process of updating site material and site data base. Co-op will work closely with an engineer to help with preliminary and conceptual industry track and industrial park plans. Responsibilities include 50% travel.

Skills:   Student must be versed in engineering drawing software such as Microstation/AutoCAD. Knowledge of Microsoft products and Adobe Acrobat are preferred. Should be willing to study site information and reference material in order to resolve problems and make layouts suggestions.
