Duties and Responsibilities: Primary duties include developing and disseminating measures and reports to support Customer Service and Equipment Planning. This may include regular production of existing reports, creation of new reports, data analysis and maintenance of existing reports, reporting tools and supporting systems. Students will become familiar with the diverse information systems that source this data to include the corporate data warehouse and mainframe systems. They will also be exposed to business processes that are used to improve customer service and the flow of traffic in the NS network. Other duties include presentation generation, investigation into the causes of variation in service and performance as well as the maintenance of a reference manual covering details and instructions on how to perform the above job tasks.
Skills: Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies, MS Visual Basic, SQL, statistical analysis and reporting tools is desired. A programming background with experience in MS Access, Java, and Web development is preferred, but not required. Must be detail oriented with good communication and listening skills, and comfortable working in an Analytical/data processing environment.
