Second Lt. Joshua James Onuska, United States Marine Corps, graduated from Officer Candidate School on Aug. 13, 2004 in Quantico, Va. Josh is the son of Kathy and Bobby Onuska. He has two sisters Abby and Laura and a brother Ian. His grandparents are Peggie Onuska and Jim and Louise Gomory. Joshua has accepted his 4-year commission, and is currently training at the Basic School in Quantico. After Basic School he will be assigned to his permanent position possibly in Iraq .

Josh is a graduate of Grove City College and Rochester High School . He had a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management. Joshua played football and basketball for the Grove City Wolverines, and was quarterback on the Rochester Rams football team and a guard on the basketball team. He also played baseball at Rochester .

Joshua's grand parents were both in the military. His grandfather, Bob Onuska, was a marine in WWII serving as a gunner on the USS Houston, and his other grandfather, Jim Gomory, served in the US Army. We are very proud that he chose to lead marines and protect our country. As we are in these very serious times, we as a family ask you to keep our son Josh in your prayers.
