Responsibilities
of the Diversity Council

The Norfolk Southern Diversity Council assists the organization's efforts to create a more inclusive and productive workplace. Responsibilities of the Council include:

  1. Identifying key issues and recommending ways in which NS can further diversity within the organization.
  2. Assisting the company in implementing diversity initiatives.
  3. Communicating with employees on the status of the established goals and objectives.
  4. Serving as a liaison to community groups and referral sources.
  5. Developing criteria for awards recognizing employee efforts in diversity.
  6. Reporting efforts to the chairman and senior management.
