Norfolk Southern's Principles of Diversity

Norfolk Southern and its people follow four principles of diversity:

  1. Diversity is achieved through inclusion and respect for others.
  2. Diversity works best when everyone participates.
  3. Diversity fosters creativity and innovation.
  4. Diversity is a critical business asset.

What is diversity?

It's the variety of characteristics, visible or not, that distinguishes one individual from another. At NS, diversity is a continuous process to recognize, cultivate and utilize all the best talents of our employees so that Norfolk Southern can grow and improve. If diversity can be summed up in one word, it is "inclusion."
