Weekly Fuel Surcharge Announcement

The NS Intermodal fuel surcharge will decrease to 22.5% on all Intermodal Rule 11, Local and Forwarded traffic for the week of Monday, June 7, 2010.

NS will reevaluate this charge on a weekly basis every Tuesday. Each Tuesday, we will advise you if any changes will be made to the surcharge which would be
effective the following Monday. When necessary, the Norfolk Southern Intermodal Fuel Surcharge will be adjusted to reflect changes in the Department of Energy Retail On-Highway Diesel Prices (National U.S. Average) index. This index is updated everyMonday and can be accessed on the Internet at www.eia.doe.gov. At the top of the home page, click on "Petroleum". From the Petroleum page, click on "Heating Oil, Diesel, Distillate". Finally, click on "Weekly On-Highway Diesel Prices" listed under "Most Recent Weekly Data".
