MANAGE
accessNS offers you several ways to manage your shipments while they are on the NS.
Customized Reports
Customized reports provide parameter-driven custom reports that provide critical information about your rail shipments regardless of the location. Customers can generate reports containing real-time equipment location information at the click of a mouse. This information can be delivered as a fax report, export to EXCEL, as a PDF, an email report, or even a comma-delimited file. Information returned to your Internet browser will provide hyperlinks to review waybill information; movement histories, UMLER information, and trip plan information. All of this information can printed to you local printer.
Examples of Customized Reports include:
-
Enroute Trains
- Terminal Summary
- Pick-Up Numbers
- Unit Arrival
- Unit Departure
Intermodal Trace
Intermodal Trace is only slightly different than our carload equipment tracking functions listed below in the Demand Trace section. Intermodal trailers, containers, or chassis can be entered or displayed depending on how you do your business. If you are tracking your Intermodal equipment by railcar, that information can be used as well.
Demand Trace allows the input of 1 - 1000 shipments for an immediate update on current status. The entry is very flexible and supports equipment ID listings through cut and paste, avoiding the need to retype equipment IDs. The listings can be stored for use by other accessNS users in your company or as personal lists available only to you. Additional capabilities are also available to view multiple moves for the equipment as well as UMLER information. Your equipment can be tracked while moving on rail through this application via our link to the Association of American Railroads even if Norfolk Southern is not providing the transportation.
Secure Quik-Trak and Quik-Dray
Quik-Trak and Quik-Dray are applications available in the secure accessNS site and were developed for quick access and response by customers and draymen. These simple applications accept up to 20 unit ID's for rail equipment, trailers, containers or chassis, and reports back current location information. Interline event reporting is available in Quik-Trak where NS is part of route.
Hazardous and government shipments are not available in either application and the applications enforce a 50 request limit of up to 20 units per request per day.
