Browse NS Museum

Get an up-close view of a 900-pound railroad coupler and sit in a locomotive simulator at the NS Museum. Exhibits highlight company history and artifacts, including sections of Civil War-era track, vintage hand tools, and diagrams to teach hand signals to railroad trainees.

Driving directions

From the Peninsula and points north:

  • I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach
  • Merge onto I-264 West toward downtown Norfolk
  • Take Exit 9 on the left toward Waterside Dr.
  • Turn right onto St. Paul's Blvd.
  • Turn left onto East Main St.
  • The museum is at the end of the first city block, inside the NS Tower on the left.

From the West and South:

  • US-58 East toward Norfolk
  • Merge onto I-664 South
  • Merge onto I-264 East via Exit 15A, on the left, toward Portsmouth/Norfolk
  • Take Exit 9 on the left toward Waterside Dr.
  • Turn right onto St. Paul's Blvd
  • Turn left onto East Main St.

The museum is at the end of the first city block, inside the NS Tower on the left.

Parking

Downtown Norfolk has public parking garages and metered spaces near the NS Tower.
