Intermodal Customer Service

As noted in our earlier Customer Advisory, the Norfolk Southern corporate headquarters closed following the mandatory evacuation ordered by Governor Ralph Northam. The closure has limited the operational capacity of the Intermodal Customer Service team and we continue to ask that all matters requiring customer service support be emailed to In the case of an emergency customers should reach out to their respective Market Manager.

The latest update from the National Hurricane Center shows that Florence is projected to make landfall in North Carolina as a Category 4 hurricane Friday morning. Until the Virginia evacuation order is lifted the Customer Service team will continue to operate in a limited capacity. In addition please note the following temporary change in Customer Service hours for the remainder of the week:

  • Tuesday – Close at 19:00 EDT
  • Wednesday through Friday – 0900 to 1900 EDT
  • Saturday – 0900 to 1200 EDT
  • Sunday – Closed

Customers and dray carriers can also utilize accessNS for information concerning their shipments.
