Demurrage

Demurrage is a charge assessed for the detention of cars by shippers or receivers of freight beyond a specified free time. Should customers fail to load or unload freight in the time allowed by the contract, demurrage could apply. Review demurrage rules and charges below.

Rules for Municipal Solid Waste, Contaminated Soil, Hazardous Waste, and Others

Review Norfolk Southern's rules and regulations for handling and transporting solid waste, contaminated soil, hazardous materials, and others in NS 6306-A. Note that shippers of such materials must meet all federal and state regulations on transporting hazardous materials and handle all permitting requirements.
