These companies coordinate all aspects of intermodal moves while providing shippers and receivers with a single point of contact and an ease of doing business comparable to truck.

With an operating plan and terminal network that create speed and reliability, NS is a viable truck-competitive alternative. NS provides transcontinental guaranteed services between the West Coast and the Northeast and Southeast, and within our intermodal "Golden Triangle".

Our Chicago, Ill., Harrisburg, Pa., and Atlanta, Ga., facilities make up the core "triangle" of our network, allowing fast, efficient, consistent service throughout the 22 states we directly serve east of the Mississippi River.

NS also handles railroad-owned or private trailers and containers, including 45', 48', and 53' trailers and 48' and 53' containers. And NS offers our domestic container Equipment Management Program, or EMP.
